Denver Migrant Crisis Costs Keep Climbing
Denver’s migrant crisis has already cost taxpayers $69 million, and the city just announced it’s spending an additional four million of taxpayer money on a migrant shelter.
Let’s recap how this crisis is hurting Denver taxpayer’s way of life:
- Denver has defunded the police and fire departments by $10 million,
- Their hospitals are on the brink of collapse,
- School systems are overwhelmed,
- Residents are being pushed to open their homes,
- Jobs are being taken from American citizens,
- And taxpayers are being forced to fund illegal immigrants’ food bills.
And Coloradans have Yadira Caraveo to thank. She has repeatedly rejected tougher border security measures in Congress and pushed Biden to defund ICE and CBP.
“Democrats’ migrant crisis is out of control, and Yadira Caraveo has done nothing to stop it. Meanwhile, Denver taxpayers continue to cover the cost – enough is enough,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
