Michiganders Struggling to Get By Won’t Get Help from Hertel

A recent report details Michiganders desperately struggling to get by after being saddled with higher costs, saying their money isn’t “going far enough to even just pay the bills.”

And Democrat Curtis Hertel will only make life more expensive. Instead of fighting to lower costs in the state senate, Hertel:

• Was “proud” to support a massive 45-cent gas tax hike that even Governor Whitmer later said was a bad idea.
• Voted against providing tax relief to small businesses.
• And backed his party’s costly spending bill that did nothing to bring down costs.

“Curtis Hertel’s promises of much-needed economic relief are as shallow as his record. The only thing Hertel’s record guarantees is higher prices for Michiganders,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
