Jeffries can’t walk back Biden’s admission: Lawler is not “extreme”

In case you missed it yesterday, President Biden had only positive things to say of Rep. Mike Lawler:

But this morning, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries feebly tried to walk back the President’s words to coincide with the DCCC and Biden’s own previous messaging.

According to Punchbowl, Jeffries said while Lawler “seems like a decent enough person interpersonally,” Lawler’s voting record “is not mainstream, it’s extreme.”

Again, here’s what Biden, the leader of the Democratic party, said: “Mike is the kind of guy that when I was in the Congress — he’s the kind of Republican I was used to dealing with. He’s not one of these MAGA Republicans…”

“When the leader of your own party isn’t buying or selling your bogus campaign talking points, you’re in trouble,” said CLF Communications Director Courtney Parella. “Democrats and Republicans alike know exactly who Mike Lawler is – a reasonable and hardworking Member of Congress, who is thoughtfully representing New Yorkers in Washington.”
