Ann Kirkpatrick: Digging In For Obamacare
Ann Kirkpatrick is digging in her heels.
This weekend, Ann Kirkpatrick voted for a government shutdown by opposing government funding with a one-year delay of Obamacare, including the burdensome individual mandate. Nevermind that corporations and businesses get a one-year reprieve from the law. And nevermind that hardworking Americans want to see Obamacare delayed.
A new battleground poll released today shows just how disconnected Ann Kirkpatrick is from the views of voters:
• 55% of those polled support delaying the individual mandate as part of the Continuing Resolution government funding debate.
• 57% of respondents oppose Obamacare, including 60% of Independents
What’s more, Ann Kirkpatrick couldn’t even bring herself to support a reform with broad bipartisan support: repealing Obamacare’s medical device tax that hurts jobs and innovation. Thanks to Ann Kirkpatrick’s support, the medical device tax would cost over 14,500 jobs and destroy investment and innovation for new products. Arizona residents can count on Ann Kirkpatrick to stand with Nancy Pelosi and fight for taxes on pacemakers, x-ray machines, and ultrasound equipment, but not for jobs.
The Bottom Line:
Ann Kirkpatrick would rather risk over 14,500 Americans losing their jobs than join Democrats and Republicans in repealing the job-destroying medical device tax. If President Obama can unilaterally delay the law for corporations, why does Ann Kirkpatrick think Arizona residents don’t deserve a fair chance at relief from Obamacare’s costly mandates and taxes?
