NY Students Kicked Out of School to House Migrants
Last night, Mayor Eric Adams put migrants ahead of New York students.
Faced with the consequences of Democrats’ open borders, Adams chose to send students in Brooklyn home to make room for migrant housing.
Never mind report after report after report after report confirmed that school closures and inadequate remote learning set students back terribly during the pandemic.
One teacher said, “What I want to know is why here? Why not send them somewhere where students wouldn’t be disrupted, where students[‘] learning wouldn’t be disrupted?”
The migrant crisis affecting students in NY is exclusively due to Democrats’ toxic policies:
- NYC Mayor Eric Adams already made severe budget cuts, defunding public safety resources like police and firefighters and taking money away from sanitation and schools.
- After cutting crucial funding, New York Democrats now are demanding the federal government relocate migrants to other states.
- Over 146,000 migrants have arrived in New York since the spring of 2022, with NYC expected to spend $12 billion on migrants through 2025.
- And 85 percent of New York City voters are either “very concerned” or “somewhat concerned” the city would “not be able to accommodate the surge of migrants.”
But instead of taking action, every House Democrat voted against securing the border, and Senate Democrats and the Biden administration continue to refuse solutions to this crisis.
“New York families — and now students directly — are being forced to bear the repercussions of Democrats’ out-of-control migrant crisis,” said CLF Communications Director Courtney Parella. “Are Democrats really prepared to explain to their voters that illegal migrant housing is more important than student learning?”
