CLF To Spend An Additional $700,000 Against Jim Mowrer

Brings Total Investment in IA-03 to $1.2 Million

The Congressional Leadership Fund (@CLFSuperPAC), the super PAC endorsed by House Republican leadership, today announced an additional $700,000 in Iowa’s 3rd congressional district race against Democrat Jim Mowrer. The additional spending brings CLF’s investment in the race to $1.2 million, which includes TV advertising in the Des Moines media market and digital advertising.

“From his days as Iowa Democratic Party Vice Chair to his full embrace of Hillary Clinton, Jim Mowrer’s partisan record makes one thing clear: he would not be an independent voice in Washington. Instead, Mowrer would fall in line behind party leaders no matter what,” said Ruth Guerra, spokeswoman for CLF. “Iowans deserve a leader who will fight for change in Washington, not Jim Mowrer’s partisan rubberstamp for the status quo.”

Last month, CLF announced an initial investment of $500,000 in IA-03. The additional $700,000 allocated to IA-03 is part of a second round of CLF spending. The super PAC’s total announced general election spending to date is $20.7 million across 15 congressional races.
