CLF Launches $500,000 Campaign Against Julia Brownley (CA-26)

WASHINGTON – The Congressional Leadership Fund (@CLFSuperPAC) has begun a $500,000 independent expenditure campaign in California’s 26th Congressional District race, highlighting Congresswoman Julia Brownley’s record of advancing her own interests at the expense of Californians.

In Congress, Julia Brownley voted for extravagant congressional perks, including taxpayer-funded lifetime health care and first-class air travel for Congress. When she had the chance to support a budget that would save taxpayer dollars, Julia Brownley put herself first, not hard-working California families.

CLF’s $500,000 campaign features a significant digital advertising buy, including a 15-second video ad, and multiple direct mail campaigns.

“Julia Brownley doesn’t think twice about making Californians foot the bill for perks for Congress,” said Emily Davis, spokeswoman for Congressional Leadership Fund. “No matter what the price tag for California families, Julia Brownley is ready to fly high to fight for her self-serving tax and spend agenda in Congress.”

ANNCR: Congresswoman Julia Brownley is what’s wrong with Washington.

Brownley voted to allow first class air travel for Congress.

But for us, Brownley voted to allow an energy tax, risking California jobs.

Julia Brownley. She’s out for herself, not us.

The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) is the super PAC dedicated exclusively to preserving and expanding the Republican Majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. From 2011-2012, CLF raised a combined $55 million with its sister-organization, the American Action Network (AAN), a 501c4 primarily focused on advocating for center-right policy solutions. Additionally, the Sunlight Foundation rated the $21 million in independent expenditures spent by AAN & CLF the #1 and #2 Highest “Returns on Investment” of conservative groups. The super PAC’s board is chaired by former Senator and American Action Network Chairman Norm Coleman (R-MN) and includes Fred Malek and former NRCC Chairman Tom Reynolds (R-NY). CLF is an independent-expenditure super PAC that operates independently of any federal candidate or officeholder.
