Suozzi’s bullsh*ting on affordability - Congressional Leadership Fund

ICYMI – Tom Suozzi penned an op-ed this weekend in Newsday discussing what he sees as “the central issue people face: affordability.”

But just last week, Suozzi claimed TWICE he wants people around the country to pay higher taxes.

Suozzi had a lengthy history of raising taxes as county executive of Nassau County:

In 2002, Suozzi raised taxes by close to 20 percent. Property taxes increased by more than $125 million for residents that year.
In 2009, there was an increase in property tax of close to 4 percent, or about $40 million.
In 2009, Suozzi proposed a tax on energy use for Nassau County residents, costing close to $40 million.

This summer, Suozzi supported a 16% tax hike on Long Islanders and voted to cut the child tax credit in half.
