SHOT/CHASER: Open-Borders Extremist Vasquez Tries to Rewrite History
SHOT: Amid record-breaking migrant crossings, Gabe Vasquez today accused the Biden administration of “taking too long to take serious action on some important border reforms.”
CHASER: Last week, Vasquez heavily downplayed his party’s border crisis, accusing Republicans of wanting “to make [the border] a political issue.”
Vasquez’s record opposing border security is clear:
- Called on President Biden to “divest from immigration enforcement agencies like ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and CBP [Customs and Border Protection].”
- Called on Biden again when publicly advocating to shut down ICE detention facilities altogether.
- Voted against securing the border.
Why the change in tune? It’s almost like Gabe Vasquez saw the recent polling that 63% of Americans think the Biden administration needs to be tougher on the border.
“Gabe Vasquez has always been an open-borders extremist,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole. “Now, he’s trying to walk back his record because it’s politically convenient, but voters know the truth: Gabe Vasquez can’t be trusted to secure the border.”
