Oregon Police Association Says Bynum Has Made Oregon “Less Safe”
The Oregon Coalition of Police and Sheriffs (ORCOPS) – the largest law enforcement association in Oregon – came out in fierce opposition of Democrat Janelle Bynum, saying she is “gaslighting” voters in her latest campaign ad.
Bynum is attempting to rewrite history and portray herself as pro-law enforcement, but ORCOPS pointed to her own record, saying “Bynum views law enforcement as the problem and has advocated for defunding at every turn. Oregon is less safe today because of policies she not only supported but led.”
And the group noted that Bynum pulled this same desperate election-year stunt before, saying “While state representatives were working to walk back some of the damage done by Chair Bynum’s bills, she falsely claimed that she had support from rank-and-file law enforcement. ORCOPS was forced to correct the record then, too.”
“The Oregon Coalition of Police and Sheriffs knows firsthand that Janelle Bynum’s ‘defund the police’ policies have made Oregon less safe, and they’ve made it clear they won’t let her rewrite her disastrous anti-law enforcement record – no matter how many false campaign ads she runs,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
