Horsford Claims Economy Is Rebounding
During a telephone town hall this week, Steven Horsford said “our economy is on the rebound.”
But recent economic news shows the economy isn’t rebounding, it’s nosediving:
- Reports showed inflation isn’t slowing down, jumping to 9.1% in June — and in Nevada inflation is outpacing the average rate at 14.9%.
- Americans are taking pay cuts as wages can’t keep up with soaring inflation.
- The odds of the U.S. economy falling into recession by next year are greater than 50%.
“If Steven Horsford thinks the economy is rebounding, then he is clearly far too out of touch with working Nevadans to represent them,” said CLF Press Secretary Cally Perkins. “Voters know they can’t trust Horsford to provide relief because he refuses to acknowledge the economic crisis he created to begin with.”
