Extreme liberal Mondaire Jones dominates primary but what about the general?

A new internal poll from Mondaire Jones’ campaign shows the socialist is currently dominating his Democrat primary opponent:

• Mondaire Jones: 43%
• Liz Whitmer Gereghty: 8%
• Undecided: 49%

This comes after a recent Axios report detailed Democrats’ primary problem in NY-17 and how Democrats “worry {Mondaire Jones’] progressive record could alienate crime-conscious moderates.”

(FYI: they’re referring to when Jones’ said he wants to defund police departments.)

Since Democrats’ previous poll shows Jones losing to Rep. Mike Lawler in a general election, the bottom line is: this doesn’t bode well for Democrats.

“This will be a primary race where both Democrats have to out-left one another, and the extremist will make it through to the general,” said CLF Communications Director Courtney Parella.
