Eugene Vindman’s No Good, Very Bad Week

Today, Inside Elections shifted their rating of the VA-07 congressional race toward Republicans, moving it from “Tilt Democratic” to “Toss Up.”

This is just another problem in a string of bad news for Democrat Eugene Vindman. Just this week:

• Vindman was called out for pulling a Tim Walz by lying about his military record,
• His campaign was slammed with FEC complaints for dodging questions on his military service,
• And the non-Virginian was called out for ducking out of debates.

To top it all off, recent polling shows Vindman and Republican Derrick Anderson are in a dead heat heading into the fall. 

“Democrats are in serious trouble in this open seat,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole. “The more we learn about Eugene Vindman, the clearer it becomes that not only is he not ready for primetime, but he certainly doesn’t have what it takes to represent Virginians in Washington.”
