Newly uncovered remarks show Kirsten Engel advocated for increasing fees and making driving so expensive that it would be “a pain to drive” to hasten a green transition.

With gas prices through the roof, Engel must be ecstatic that Arizonans are feeling the pinch.

“If Kirsten Engel’s goal was to make it so expensive that it’d be ‘a pain to drive’ then mission accomplished,” said CLF Press Secretary Cally Perkins. “But for millions of Arizonans struggling to make ends meet, rising prices are the absolute last thing they need and in Congress, Engel would only make it worse.”
