Former Democrat Virginia Rep. Elaine Luria is once again running for Congress in the commonwealth’s second district. But this time around, she’s much, much richer on paper.
Since leaving Congress in 2023 after two terms, Luria’s net worth has skyrocketed, according to financial disclosure records reviewed by the Daily Caller.
Luria’s financial assets in 2023 were estimated to be worth anywhere between $3.4 million and $12.9 million, her final financial disclosure report shows.
But Luria’s net worth surged in the years after departing Congress, according to her candidacy financial disclosure report, which was filed in May. The portfolio is larger and more diversified, and the disclosed financial assets put her net worth at anywhere up to $51.1 million.

She also reported 2025 earned income from a BAE Systems board seat and two LLCs that were dissolved in November 2025, according to records.
The company was taken private by Saltchuk about a year after Luria joined the board with a merger agreement dated May 19, 2024, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing. The merger closed July 10, 2024, at $8.50/share.
On Dec. 13-14, 2023, Luria bought 40,000 OSG shares for about $190,540 to $191,000, according to an SEC filing. At $8.50, those shares were worth $340,000, a gain of about $149,000.
