Bustos (!) bows out

Honestly, this tells you more about how Democrats are feeling in 2022 than anything I could say: former DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos is retiring instead of facing her voters.

Analysts are already calling her retirement “a blow to Dem prospects of keeping the majority.”

Guess she was really terrified of seeing CLF in her district again next year.

“When even Cheri Bustos has so little confidence in her party that she’d rather bow out than face re-election, you know House Democrats are in for trouble in 2022,” said CLF Communications Director Calvin Moore. “Then again, after Bustos’ embarrassing failure last cycle, probably a solid call to sail off into the sunset.”
