After Years of Attacking Republicans, Avlon Takes Phony Bipartisan Pledge
In a desperate attempt to rewrite his divisive, partisan record, John Avlon has taken a “Common Ground Over Chaos” pledge that’s meant to encourage bipartisanship.
But the truth is, perennial talking head John Avlon spent his journalistic career attacking Republicans:
- As a host on CNN, Avlon called Trump supporters “delusional” and accused them of having “derangement syndrome.”
- As Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Beast, Avlon said the outlet would serve as “loyal opposition” to former President Trump.
- And Avlon defended one of his writers for accusing anyone who rents at a Trump property or plays golf at a Trump resort of “supporting racism and neo-fascism.”
“John Avlon has spent his career bashing Republicans and embracing dangerous, divisive rhetoric, so this latest ploy to present himself as bipartisan is a bit rich. Long Island voters will see right through it,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
