WATCHDOG: Cartwright among “worst ethics violators” of 2019
Hope your New Year is off to a better start than Congressman Matt Cartwright’s, who independent Congressional ethics watchdogs just named one of the “worst ethics violators” of 2019.
The honor comes after the Congressman earned multiple ethics complaints for using the powers of his Congressional office to benefit his family’s law firm.
In delivering the award, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust slams Crooked Cartwright over the blatant conflict of interest, saying his action “impugns the integrity of government.”
“In being named one of the ‘worst ethics violators of 2019,’ Crooked Cartwright has given Pennsylvanians every reason they need to show him the door this November,” said CLF Spokesman Calvin Moore. “Crooked Cartwright got busted in a corrupt scheme where he abused his office in an attempt to make himself rich, and this latest development shows Pennsylvanians won’t be reaching the bottom of his corruption anytime soon.”
