Cartwright Can’t Shake That Scrooge Feeling…
While the Holiday season has passed, it seems as though Congressman Matt Cartwright just can’t shake that Ebenezer Scrooge feeling…
While everyone at Navient cheered for $1,000 bonuses – due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – Congressman Cartwright couldn’t help but give a backhanded show of appreciation:
“This is certainly a credit to Navient’s foresight and good management. Unfortunately, while this kind of gesture is bound to generate headlines, the question is, how many other corporations will choose not to give out these tax-windfall bonuses?”
I guess Congressman Cartwright didn’t get the memo that AccuWeather and PNC Financial Services Group announced they are giving their employees bonuses as a result of tax reform. While I can understand it may be hard to keep track of all these announcements, as more and more bonuses and raises are announced every day, here is a list for Congressman Cartwright to use in case he is interested…
“Congressman Cartwright clearly doesn’t understand that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is good for Pennsylvania’s middle class as they are seeing direct results of this legislation already,” said Michael Byerly, National Press Secretary for Congressional Leadership Fund. “Voters will remember that Congressman Cartwright sided with Nancy Pelosi and voted against putting more of their hard-earned money back in their pockets.”
