CLF To Spend An Additional $900,000 Against Pete Gallego
Brings Total Investment in TX-23 to $1.7 Million
The Congressional Leadership Fund (@CLFSuperPAC), the super PAC endorsed by House Republican leadership, today announced an additional $900,000 in Texas’ 23rd congressional district race against career politician Pete Gallego. The additional spending brings CLF’s investment in the race to $1.7 million, which includes TV advertising in the San Antonio media market and digital advertising starting October 11.
“Texans gave Pete Gallego a chance, and he blew it. Instead of standing up for Texans, he became part of the problem by defending the failed Obama agenda. The last thing Texans need in Congress is another career politician like Pete Gallego vowing to maintain the status quo,” said Ruth Guerra, spokeswoman for CLF.
Last month, CLF announced an initial investment of $800,000 in TX-23. The additional $900,000 allocated to TX-23 is part of a second round of CLF spending. The super PAC’s total announced general election spending to date is $20.7 million across 15 congressional races. Additionally, in 2014, CLF and its sister organization, the American Action Network (501c4), spent $1.6 million in the TX-23 congressional race, supporting Will Hurd’s victory over Pete Gallego.
