NE-02 First Wave of Spending 2016
Initial Round of TV and Digital Advertising Announced
WASHINGTON – The Congressional Leadership Fund (@CLFSuperPAC), the super PAC endorsed by House Republican leadership, today announced its first wave of general election spending. CLF will begin by allocating $720,000 in Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district race between Democrat Congressman Brad Ashford and center-right Republican leader Don Bacon. The independent expenditure will include TV ads in the Omaha media market and digital advertising starting October 25.
“We’re proud to support Republicans like Don Bacon, who is running on providing conservative, solutions-based leadership in the House,” said Ruth Guerra, spokeswoman for Congressional Leadership Fund. “Voters can look no further than Hillary Clinton’s email scandal to know they don’t want Democrats who support her in Congress. From the airwaves to the ground game, Brad Ashford will have no place to hide from his support of the Clinton agenda.”
This is part of a first round of announced spending totaling $10 million in 12 of the top competitive House races across the country. CLF and its sister organization American Action Network remain the single largest outside conservative spenders on the U.S. House.
Founded in 2011, Congressional Leadership Fund is the super PAC endorsed by House Republican Leadership and dedicated exclusively to preserving and expanding the Republican Majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. CLF, along with its sister organization, 501(c)(4) American Action Network, spent $20 million in independent expenditures on U.S. House races in 2014. CLF is an independent-expenditure super PAC that operates independently of any federal candidate or officeholder.
