Amish Shah Wants to Eliminate Private Health Insurance & Backs “Medicare for All”

A resurfaced clip of AZ-01 Democrat nominee Amish Shah caught him emphatically backing Medicare for All, saying: “we need universal, single-payer Medicare for All throughout this country” while at a townhall event for Bernie Sanders during his run for President, which was hosted by the Phoenix Democratic Socialists of America and the Progressive Democrats of America.

Shah’s socialist Medicare for All plan would not only eliminate private health insurance plans but would drastically drive up taxes, costing American families more than $5,000 a year, while ensuring worse care and long waits for medical procedures.

And this wasn’t a one-time thing. Shah reiterated his support for Medicare for All on social media, then doubled down at a primary debate THIS YEAR.

“Progressive Amish Shah is modeling his candidacy after socialist Bernie Sanders. Shah wants to eliminate your private health insurance and implement the financially crippling Medicare for All, guaranteeing worse health coverage for Arizonans.” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole. “Shah is just too extreme for Arizona.”
