Vasquez’s Las Cruces Facing “Rising Crime” & “Growing Drug Crisis”

The Las Cruces Police Chief announced last night the city is facing a “growing drug crisis” – as massive amounts of fentanyl are flowing into the city – and a startling 46% increase in violent crime.

And if it were up to radical Gabe Vasquez, these problems would be even worse:

  • When Vasquez served on the Las Cruces City Council, he “wholeheartedly and absolutely” pledged to defund the Las Cruces police department.
  • And he went on TV to advocate for defunding the police and even called police a “system of oppression.”
  • Now in Congress, he has voted AGAINST securing the border, which would have helped prevent the flow of fentanyl into New Mexico communities.

“Instead of making New Mexico families safer, Gabe Vasquez has empowered drug cartels and dangerous criminals by backing a dangerous anti-border security and anti-law enforcement agenda,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
