Will Hertel Tell the Truth About Gotion’s Allegiance to CCP?
A recent report revealed that Gotion – the EV battery company Curtis Hertel brought to Michigan using taxpayer subsidies – disclosed in an amended Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filing that it also received Chinese government subsidies.
When asked directly why he voted to “give tax dollars to the Chinese Communist Party,” Hertel replied, “that’s not true.”
It’s up to Hertel to tell voters whether he stands by this seemingly clear lie, but what’s indisputable is that this plant is a disaster for national security and Michigan communities. So much so, that the township board that sealed the Gotion deal was recalled by their constituents.
Meanwhile, Hertel received campaign donations from the very lobbyists associated with the project.
“The corruption of this project is just too much. Voters deserve some straight answers from Curtis Hertel,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
