Mannion Diminished NY Migrant Crisis, Communities Suffer the Consequences

Today, prosecutors say an illegal immigrant traveled to Syracuse last week, “suffocated a woman on her 21st birthday and then hid her body in a Syracuse park,” before fleeing town on a bus to New York City.

Remember when State Senator – now Democrats’ nominee in NY-22 – John Mannion trashed his own voters, dismissed their concerns, and diminished the illegal immigration crisis altogether?

He said: “They are fearful that buses of migrants are going to come into where they live and change their community. It is just unbelievable to me, but I’m not surprised at the ignorance.”

John Mannion’s remarks weren’t just wrong, they’ve proven to be deadly.

“John Mannion abandoned New York families by diminishing the severity of this illegal immigration crisis, and he cannot be trusted to fix this crisis or keep New Yorkers safe,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
