Sorensen Must Apologize for Rape Jokes

The Sexual Violence Prevention Association is calling out a disgusting remark from Democrat Eric Sorensen that contributes “to rape culture” and demand he be held accountable for his harmful rhetoric.

In 2011, Sorensen took to Twitter (X) to joke about a burger named for a former football star accused of raping multiple women.

“I bet they’ll rape ya on the price. (Too soon?)” Sorensen tweeted.

“Eric Sorensen making light of rape is abhorrent and unacceptable, but also sadly not surprising given Sorensen’s track record of insulting and shocking statements,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole. “Eric Sorensen doesn’t deserve to represent Illinoisans and should apologize immediately.”
