Hertel Welcomed CCP Gotion With Open Arms

Michigan residents are NOT happy about CCP-linked Chinese company Gotion opening its EV battery plant, and they pushed back on Fox News saying the project “makes no sense at all,” and it’s “not a good fit for our community.”

But that’s not the worst part… Top U.S. officials recently warned Congress of the national security threat posed by China, calling the project “deeply dangerous.”

Despite resident opposition and the glaring national security threat, Curtis Hertel approved a $175 million taxpayer incentive and took campaign cash from foreign agents representing Gotion.

Remember, the township officials who approved these same tax breaks for CCP Gotion, like Hertel, were recalled for their support of the project. Hertel should be held to the same level of accountability.

“Curtis Hertel has welcomed the Chinese Communist Party to Michigan with open arms, while lining his own pockets,” said CLF Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole. “Now, Michiganders will pay the price for this grave national security threat being in their own backyards, and voters will hold Hertel accountable this November.”
