New Poll: Crime/Public Safety Is Top Concern for New Mexico
A new survey, conducted by KOAT, The Albuquerque Journal and KKOB News Radio, asked New Mexicans to weigh in on what the most critical issues were facing the state.
Crime is at the top of the list with an overwhelming 47.9% saying it’s the most important issue, followed by poverty at 12.6% and education at 12.5%.
But New Mexicans hoping that Gabe Vasquez will ease their concerns of rising crime should turn elsewhere for help.
- Gabe Vasquez advocated for defunding the police on local TV but actively hid his identity when saying, “It’s not just about defunding police, it’s about defunding a system that privileges white people over everyone else.”
- Then, he advocated for defunding the police AGAIN via email, “wholeheartedly and absolutely” vowing his “full support” to halve the police budget of Las Cruces, where he served as a member of the city council.
- And let’s not forget that since coming to Congress, he again sided against law enforcement by voting to lessen penalties for violent crimes in the nation’s capital.
“Anti-police activist Gabe Vasquez has shown New Mexicans exactly who he is and what he stands for,” said CLF Communications Director Courtney Parella. “Vasquez will always side with criminals over law enforcement and the safety of New Mexico families.”
