WASHINGTON – Congressional Leadership Fund (@CLFSuperPAC), the super PAC endorsed by House Republican leadership, today announced a record-breaking $51 million raised and $71 million cash on hand in the second quarter of 2018.
In this quarter alone, CLF raised more than it did during the entire 2016 election cycle. This follows CLF’s record-breaking 2017, when CLF raised $26 million, 52 times the previous off-year fundraising report. To date, CLF has raised more than $93 million this cycle.
“Thanks to the leadership of Speaker Paul Ryan and Leader Kevin McCarthy in Congress, CLF continues to break fundraising records, raising more this quarter than CLF raised during the entire 2016 cycle. Our donors are united in making sure Nancy Pelosi does not become Speaker of the House,” said Corry Bliss, CLF Executive Director. “CLF’s early and aggressive fundraising has already proven to change the political landscape this midterm election cycle – we’ve reserved more than $60 million in fall advertising, opened field offices across the country, and knocked on over 15 million doors to date. CLF is committed to playing a major role protecting the Republican majority this fall.”
In the second quarter of 2016, the previous election year, CLF raised $4.6 million and had $6 million cash on hand. In February 2017 CLF launched an unparalleled field program contacting voters in over 30 congressional districts across the country, making over 15 million voter contacts to date. Additionally, CLF recently announced a second round of fall advertising reservations totaling $60 million, including an unprecedented $10 million digital investment.
