In spite of voting for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker twice during his time in Congress, Brad Ashford now refuses to say whether he would do it again during an interview with Morning Consult:
“I haven’t gotten to that in my head, deciding what I’d do,” [Ashford] said when asked if he would vote for Pelosi again. “That’s inside baseball. The Republicans may have been effective in using it. I just don’t think it’s a factor here.”
Here’s one reason why Ashford is refusing to admit that he’d vote for Pelosi, again. In a memo released yesterday, CLF highlights a recent poll conducted in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District showing a whopping 60 percent of voters have an unfavorable view of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. That’s 10 points more unpopular than the national average. And knowing good ol’ Brad Ashford goes whichever way the political wind blows…maybe that explains his refusal to answer the question…
P.S. Won’t be long until Brad starts having shady “private dinners” with Pelosi and her allies. We still don’t know what that was about, but we’ll always have the pictures for memories.
